Berlin based musician and dj Nastia Reigel started organizing parties in Siberia at only 18 having very little resources at hand, but instead a healthy dose of curiosity.
The location which was used as a cinema by day turned at night into what was going to be the foundation of the first proper raves in this part of Siberia. It is where Nastia’s artistic journey to the different dance floors of the world began.
Curating spaces, creating atmospheres, building communities – this is a theme that pervades Reigel’s whole career. With her perseverance and dedication she went on to organise the first-ever queer parties in St. Petersburg and later Moscow which have been covered several times by Dazed Magazine.
She spent years acquiring different mixing techniques and selection skills that shaped her unique voice as a musician and DJ as well as a busy touring schedule in Europe, Australia as well as North and South America. Nastia’s obsession with achieving a deeper understanding of electronic music and developing techno sound is a gift she doesn’t only present to us on the dance floor, but also in her studio work.
Releases on household name labels like Non Series, Token, or Enemy Records stand pounding proof for that. Nastia has broadened her scope as a musician well beyond techno.
Her post-punk alias Rosa Damask first appeared in Vatican Shadow’s Berghain Mix 09; soon after, she released an album on his widely revered label Hospital Productions and her second album on Atlanta’s DKA label.
She delivers a unique artistic perspective, refreshing musical vigour, and an indisputable technical mastery. What can we say – she’s the complete package.
